Welcome Ulrika - new strategic account manager at Cordovan Communication

Cordovan Communication has acquired many new clients and assignments lately and bolsters up the agency with new strategic account manager Ulrika Sohtell.

“It feels great. I’m looking forward to working with both current and new clients,” says Ulrika Sohtell.

Ulrika has long experience of leading teams and managing projects in marketing and communication, from both the agency and the client side of the table. Earlier, she has been marketing manager at NetOnNet and account manager on agencies such as Momentum, Mindshare, and Forsman & Bodenfors.

“I am really passionate about business. Communication can be a wonderful thing, but it has to generate profit. It’s important to work towards results.”

Why Cordovan Communication?

“I felt that we shared a view of agency work and the role an advertising agency should have. I believe in working close to the client, building trust. It’s our job to help the client evolve and be supportive – we’re in this together. I often say that I’m the agency’s woman at the client’s and the client’s woman at the agency.”

How can an agency stay relevant today?

“We have to add value, to the clients and their brands, and show that our work makes a tangible difference. It’s also important to never stop being curious. At an agency you learn a lot and you work with many different lines of business. It’s extra important to be supportive to clients when facing an imminent recession. And it’s important for an agency to be kind, fundamentally, and believe in its people.”

What is good communication?

“Good communication affects you. It’s relevant to the recipient and creates benefits for the client’s business. Media, brand, and strategy – that’s a symbiosis with an increasing importance and a demand for knowledge in this area is getting clearer by the day.”

What role will you have at Cordovan?

“As a strategic account manager it is my role to develop our relationships with the clients we have and be responsible for new clients. It’s also important to work towards creating growth for the agency. Fun at work is important, too. I hope to be able to contribute with an extra dimension to my already competent colleagues.”

What do you do when you are not at work?

“As a mother of teenagers, I need time for myself to charge my batteries. I like outdoors, in the forest, in the garden or at sea. Now the skiing season is here, and as I grew up in Mora, I always hope for a lot of snow and beautiful skiing conditions.”
